The Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED Course is designed to meet the regulatory requirements for child care workers in all 50 United States. It teaches child care providers and others to respond to and manage illnesses and injuries of a child or infant. The course covers the Four Steps of Pediatric First Aid and modules in Pediatric First Aid, Child/Infant CPR AED, Adult CPR AED and Asthma Care Training.
The CPR module teaches:
- child and/or infant CPR AED
- adult CPR and AED use (optional, but available training)
- The relief of choking for an adult, child and infant.
- Asthma Care Training
Heartsaver First Aid covers multiple workplace and environmental injuries. Some of the injuries include:
- Bleeding
- recognizing heart attacks and strokes
- broken bones
- animal and insect bites
Some of the skills practiced include:
- taking off gloves properly
- finding (recognizing) the problem
- the use of an epi-pen
- stopping bleeding and bandaging properly
– Upon completion of this course, you will receive a certification card valid for 2 years.
